Unfinished

Lingering on the unfinished

Clinging to something not complete

Its reassurance

Of a life lived and living

Transference of energy and its conservation

Conversing between languages both old and new

Where pieces and fragments are holier than whole

Holes

Gaps and pauses and breaks

But unfinished, in limbo, in-between something

Suspended connections in tapestries

Amidst action and thought

Binding and loosening

The push and pull

Glitter suck in my throat

Wrapped in orange light

A pink star awaiting

I ate a packet of pistachio kernels

Their marbled skin

And it’s gone

Glimpsed the sun

I hate it when I sweat in the cold

But I love the smell of the world after it’s rained

And they’ve tied it back up again, in a nice bow
