going and leaving

I leave you now as I board the great unknown

It welcomes me somehow though I don’t know its name

I see you from a distance now

But looking at a same sky

Or perhaps it has changed

Aged through time and decayed into a beauty

Too great to explain

I see you from a distance

As the darkness looks above roofs

And I still remember a soft touch on skin

That wrinkled the passage of youth

A farewell to sweet innocence

That starry eyed world of ours

But it never was lost

And you and I

And I and you

We are one and the same

And the truth that always tries

As one loves then dies
